More than anything I want someone who will take me as I am, not see me as their private DIY project. I am well groomed and dress up nicely with table manners and know which fork to use in a restaurant...most people like that in a man...but...(there's always a 'but') I'm also a former US Marine. This means that occasionally I curse and I have a couple tattoos (nothing visible) and I have some friends who have hearts of gold but are rough around the edges. All this means that I have many great qualities and some that may not be so endearing at times. (Damn...I think I just admitted to being human!)
I'm passionate about the people I love and care for and about those principles and ideals which I hold in high esteem. I always root for the underdog and hate to see people who are down being taken advantage of.I am a bad practical joker...I've been advised that it is terminal. ;-)
If you want someone with a good sense of humour, honest with their feelings and a friend to the end and don't mind a few practical jokes along the way, chances are we could have a fun time together! Hopefully I am fairly easy on the eyes and most people will guess that I am at least 5 if not 10 years younger than my actual age. I would like to find someone who is at least in reasonable shape as I love doing things outdoors and being active. Could be digging up the garden, hiking or even mountain biking. Then again on a nasty winter day maybe it is loafing around all day reading papers or books or having a movie marathon!
I'd be happy just having someone to talk and share things with and have a laugh or two. A good time doesn't have to be had in a restaurant or pub or be reserved for some far off exotic place once or twice a year. Real good times should happen in the places we spend most of our lives so maybe it is talking over a drink while we cook together and then an evening of conversation and laughs in or out of the house. In the end it is about simply, what works.
