Laughing - a lot! Cracking sense of humour essential! I can & do find humour in most things & my sense of humour can be quite dark - you have been warned!
Communicating with your partner at every level. Communication is like oxygen to me & I need someone who needs that too.
Dancing - even if you think you're no good at it or if it's just at home!
Flirting with the one you're with, no matter how long you've been together! There's no excuse for letting the romance go or taking each other for granted - great relationships take effort from both sides, but the rewards are well worth it.
Music - I love, love love music! Do you? It could be rock, indie, metal, dance, r'n'b or whatever floats your boat, as long as you love it & it makes you feel good! My life has a soundtrack - music makes housework bearable, turns my little car into speakers on wheels, makes me wish I could sing [I can't :-( but I still belt them out when I'm on my own - don't need a hairbrush as an improvised mike though...because in my head I'm playing guitar or drums - promise not to inflict my singing on you lol]. Music quiets my overactive mind when I can't sleep, lifts my spirits when I'm down, perks me up when I'm tired, makes me want to dance & adds an extra element to making love with a special person. I absolutely love going to gigs when I get the chance - the most recent gigs I've been to were Muse [my fave band], Band of Skulls, Florence & the Machine, Pink & Kasabian :-) Gigs still on my "wish list" include The Prodigy, Linkin Park, Lost Prophets, Stonesour, Faithless, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Evanescence, Damien Rice, Lady Gaga, Eminem, The Pretty Reckless, Kings of Leon plus all the festivals to name but a few! I like loads of other artists too, but the aforementioned are the ones I'm most keen to see live. Ok, that's probably scared quite a few of you off now lol. Basically I'm happy to see anyone play live [well...almost anyone...I draw the line at Shania Twain, James Blunt, Maria Carey........even I have my limits lol], but an unsigned band in the local pub is cool :-)
By the way, I wouldn't expect you to like everything I like, & vice versa. I don't think that's necessary, as long as there's some common ground. I believe what's more important is tolerance & open mindedness - being willing to accept & respect what your partner likes, without being judgemental or belittling their taste.
Comedy - stand-up [faves include Jack Dee, Dylan Moran, Eddie Izzard, Bill Bailey, Tim Minchin, Rhod Gilbert etc] or well written tv shows [I love The Big Bang Theory, Friends, Frasier, Green Wing, Scrubs, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Mock the Week, QI, Threesome - behave - It's a tv show!] ~ I'm a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine & should be a daily occurrence :-D
Films - whether in the cinema or curled up on the sofa together. I need someone to keep me safe during the scary bits, to tease me about pretending I've got something in my eye when there are sad [or happy!] bits, to laugh with me at the funny bits, to step into that other world with me & get lost together, & to talk about it afterwards when we return to reality - or is it? Maybe what we think of as reality is actually an epic movie.... ;-) Sorry, just slipped into random mode....I do that...often...my mind is racing now with thoughts of all that's happened so far in this movie & what plot twists are coming next.....the suspense is killing me...& praying that the casting director gets it right this time & gives me a leading man that'll make the critics rave about the amazing chemistry between us! ;-)
Good food & wine - I love to eat out when funds allow, somewhere with a nice ambience & delicious food, which is so much better in delightful company [which is where you come in, hopefully].
Animals - I have 2 dogs & a cat so if you can't tolerate them please don't message me!, I also adore horses & riding, wildlife & the natural world in all it's varied glory.
Walking in the countryside, stopping a while to breathe it all in, maybe pausing to take photographs, watch the birds, admire the view, sit on the grass & look for interesting shapes in the clouds & just "be".
Meandering along a beach, being a big kid, feeling the sand beneath bare feet, exploring rock pools & watching the waves.
Books.
Arty stuff - not necessarily anything highbrow - art can be found anywhere, it's all around us & takes so many different forms.
Lots of long conversations late into the night [I'm a night owl by the way!].
Gazing at the moon & stars on a clear night, lying on the grass [preferably not in a puddle lol] in a place where there are no streetlights so you can really see the beauty of it.
Enjoying a dramatic thunderstorm, revelling in it's power & beauty - I love storms, especially at night :-)
Travelling, exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, meeting new people [it's not something I've had the opportunity to do much of, but I'd really love to do more with a like-minded partner].
Trying out new things - could be food [maybe my cooking - you poor sod ;-) nah, it's not really that bad...honest], a different music or film genre, an alternative destination, an adventure of some kind, a dance class, anything at all - you may never want to repeat it but you don't know till you try! Basically openness & an adventurous spirit is the key. There's loads of things that scare me [drowning, falling from a great height, being buried alive, generally dying horribly, you get the picture] but none more so than being bored to death! So I'll still try the scary stuff, as long as I have a fellow lunatic to hold my hand :-D Any volunteers?
Learning - I don't think I'll ever lose my innate curiousity about everything & I want to keep learning till the day I die so if you're of the opinion that you already know everything then you're not for me! If you can teach me stuff though that's cool, & hopefully you're humble enough to let me teach you a few things too ;-)
Motorbikes - not essential but I find them really exciting. Apart from the speed & adrenaline rush there's the overwhelming sense of freedom that adds to the attraction.
Cuddles, natural affection, holding hands & lots & lots of kissing! :-) I'm a very affectionate person so I need to be with someone who appreciates that & enjoys it.
Passion, intimacy & sensuality. I think these are a very important not to mention very enjoyable part of a healthy relationship.
I don't really appreciate one-liners, if you're interested then talk to me properly. If you don't have any photos on here then why not? A photo of you that is, as opposed to some handsome hunk copied from a magazine or the internet [you'd be surprised how many fake photos there are on here!] & taken recently, not several decades ago. I'm not at all shallow & attraction is about much more than looks but I think it's only reasonable to know what the person you're chatting to looks like. My photos are recent & in case you can't tell from those I'm a very curvy & feminine size 16.
If you've actually read all this & you're not currently fashioning a noose while standing on a chair under the light fitting then well done you :-D .....your certificate of endurance is in the post lol.
In the long term I'm looking for that spark of chemistry with a special guy who's on my wavelength, who makes me laugh, appreciates my quirkiness & who'll think that I'm their "someone special" too, however I don't think you find that without talking to, & meeting, a few people first [& even then that's if you're very lucky] so initially I'm looking to chat then date [not one night stands!] & get to know people. I'm usually attracted to men slightly younger than myself, probably because I don't think, feel or look my age [so I'm told, but I pay my friends well lol] & have no intention of starting to act my age - ever! I don't think numbers are important though - it's really about having a young attitude & outlook.
I'm not desperate to find a man, I'm quite happy as I am, so I wouldn't be turning up for a date in a wedding dress! Having said that if the "right" person for me is out there I'd hate to think we'd missed each other!
